New ARM processors to arrive in the end of 2009

It appears that the arms race in the mobile world should not learn to stop, with manufacturers that equip more powerful processor and dedicated graphics chip. A product manager at ARM, in fact, would have declared the arrival of Mali and Mali-200-400, two graphics chips for the medium-low, but can flaunt graphics capabilities enviable.

In terms of performance should be outstanding: 16 million triangles per second and 275 million pixels per second, which results in performance worthy dell'Xbox360!

Laptop Operating Temperatures

I was afraid of laptop operating temperatures for a long time, and I still have that fear of burning hot laptops. I know, I know, the latest processors are much cooler than the ones laptops used about a decade ago, but that's not the main issue. Have you ever wondered about health issues that can be closely related to the laptop operating temperatures? Probably not, so here's the story...


If you’re one of the males using a laptop, various studies conducted a few years ago have shown that you may want to get a cool one. No, not necessarily a cool laptop computer like the MacBook, but a cool one like any laptop that doesn't get hot... Why that?

Well, these studies found that, as long as the laptop operating temperatures are high, the result is an excessive amount of heat being transferred to the scrotum, and ultimately affecting the quality and quantity of the user’s sperm. So that's why Peter North doesn't have a notebook, now I finally know the answer!

Now, don't throw away your hot laptop, because this only happen when you are using it on your lap. Simply place it on a desk, and everything should be fine, but...

...what are the best laptop operating temperatures?

Well, some may tell you to get a certain program to find out how hot is your laptop, get some additional cooling, and so on, but I am not one of those. As long as your laptop runs fine, it doesn't really matter how hot it is, as long as it's not outside the warranty period. Just be sure to always backup your precious data, because we all know that laptop operating temperatures are higher than those of desktop computers, so breakdowns are more frequent.

These being said, remember there's no such thing as best laptop operating temperature. If it works, be happy with it and backup on a daily basis. Good luck

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA

The ASUS Eee PC family is getting larger with each month, I guess, and since they were the first ones to bring the netbook to the masses, I see nothing wrong with it. Well, this exponential growth should stop one day, but we're not going to talk about that now. Basically, we have some ASUS Eee PC 1008HA news. What kind of news? Its price!


According to various sources, the 1008HA is expected to be available for UK-based consumers at a price point of £359, including VAT. That's a bit over $500 in the US, or €382 in the rest of Europe. So...what will we get for this price?

Leaving aside the fact that the 1008HA is quite a handsome gadget, the 10.2-inch LED backlit screen with 1024x600 native resolution, the Intel N280 Atom CPU and 1GB of RAM aren't that ugly, either. While no SSD version is currently planned, the 1008HA will come with a pretty large 160GB hard-disk drive, at least for a netbook.

Considering the above, it's quite surprising to find that the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA is only 1-inch thick and a weight of 1.1kg. ETA? Next month!

SONY VAIO P Changes

I love Sony. On the other hand, I hate them. Sometimes, I even love to hate them, exactly as it happens with Apple. In the end, I guess most notorious companies have a dark side, but that depends on the point of view, and the eyes watching. When talking about Sony, I usually hate the prices, and the colors chosen for some of their products. For example, the VAIO P, but not only this model - when they come in pink...I almost feel like crawling up the walls!



The story goes like this - according to Sony Insider, the VAIO P is expected to receive some updates pretty soon. So far, so good, but most people were expecting some minor retouches, like new colors available, and probably some additional accessories. Guess what? This is only a small part of the truth...

...because various inside sources mentioned that the 700 line is on its way here, and this is opposed to the current 500 line, so it seems like a typical Sony scheme for spec refreshes.

While the new digits include signs of new colors, the additional "Q" in the mix points at some hardware changes. What kind of hardware changes? That's a good question, but it has no answer, at least for now.

You know what's the most frightening part of this possible update? A tiny ultraportable like the VAIO P featuring Windows 7! Why aren't they customizing some Windows XP Home, the Alienware way, huh? Sometimes, a smart Windows theme could be worth the device's weight in gold!

N-Gage will not get the Nokia N73 and N93

If these are bad news for me since some time that I walk with a Nokia N73 and expected to fulfill its pledges to provide support for N-Gage device, the N93 and N93i. But in the end will not be and this is the explanation given by an official administrator of the N-Gage Forums:

Although the N73, N93 and N93i were planned initially as devices that
support N-Gage, we concluded that we will be unable to support these devices in
the future. There are several reasons for this, but the decisive factor was that
we were not satisfied with the experience of playing in the N-Gage mobile. We
understand completely that this is a huge disappointment for those who were
waiting for so long the support and we sincerely apologize for that.

We know that many were excited by this announcement for some time and hopefully can forgive us for not reaching this decision before, but I really wanted to bring N-Gage devices so they continue working on them while we could, but ultimately the quality and stability of the experience was not the best in Mobile.

So if you want to go for N-Gage is going to have to buy some of the Nokia Nuevitas that more are on the list of compatibles.

How to Unlock memory card when you forgot your memory card password

Some times it happens that you forgot the password of your memory card and you have lots of your important data in your phone.
So there are two types of methods for recovering the password of your memory card with the help of nokia phone.

For Nokia s60 1st and 2nd edition phones.

1. First Install FExplorer in your phone memory.
2. Got to drive C: , you will find a file called mmcstore
3. Send it to your pc directly and open it in notepad or rename the file.
4. At the end of the file you will find your password.

For Nokia S60 3rd Phones, Nokia N-Series and Nokia E-Series

• There is almost no way yet known to hack the memory card password in case of these types of phone but there is a way to do it some of the s60 3rd edition phones and almost all the E-series phones.
  
• The remote lock option in E-Series phone allws you to unlock your phone by sending a sms.
  
• The only thing you have to do is to activate this feature by going to Tools--> Settings--> Security-->Phone and SIM-->Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message.
  
• So you have to just send a sms containing your remote lock message that will automatically change your memory card passsword.

95% PC's of the world runs on Vista and XP still. Google is developing Android as a OS to compete with Microsoft's windows. More so Google is making a Linux based OS which will have many advantages over Windows like modularity ( Windows is monolithic OS), more secure ( As it is Linux based).

So will Microsoft loose its dominance in a few years or a year. Only time can tell us.

Dell to Apple: Kiss our RAM - all 192GB of it

Hoping to upend Apple’s Mac Pro cart, Dell said its new Precision 7500 dual Nehalem Xeon workstations will pack up to six times the amount of RAM and at higher speeds than are available with today’s hottest Apple machines.

Users can get to the 192GB mark by stuffing 12 16GB DIMMs into the Precision T7500’s chassis. Dell said the RAM speeds are also increased thanks to support for DDR3/1333. The Precision will use registered ECC RAM for high density configurations. The new chips will also mark the end of FB-DIMM in the dual processor Xeon lineup.

FB-DIMM’s, which use a small and wickedly hot memory controller on each DIMM to buffer the signals, have long been dinged for massive thermal issues and latency penalties. Dell officials said people’s feelings on FB-DIMM aside, it did get the previous generation of CPUs to the RAM densities people needed. One of the primary justifications for FB-DIMM was the density issue on DDR2 but Dell officials said the 192GB mark for DDR3 was not a major technical hurdle in itself. Keeping it cool and keeping acoustics acceptable was a problem, but Dell said it has it under control.

Bandwidth and compute performance of the dual Nehalems leave the previous design in the dust, Dell said. Like the Core i7, the top-end Nehalem Xeons will feature 8MB of L3 cache, 6.4GT/s QPIs, and support Turbo Mode and Hyper-Threading. The Xeon’s will also support something called Direct Cache Access which lets single-threaded applications subsume all of the available shared L3 cache when it’s not being used by other threads.

HTC Reveals World's First GSM / WiMAX Handset

It seems like HTC was not content with being the first to introduce a handset with the Android OS (G1) or a full touch screen handset with a WVGA resolution in their HTC TOUCH HD . They apparently are looking to be a very dominant company when it comes to setting a bar. Their latest is the worlds first handset to incorporate an integration of GSM and WiMAX technology in a single handset called the HTC MAX 4G for the Russian provider of Mobile WiMAX Scartel (brand Yota).

With its 3.8 inch, 800×480 pixel resolution display and 8 Gigs of internal memory running on a Windows Mobile 6.1 OS, the handset will give users a lot more than they bargained for. Other features include TV out capability, VoIP, a 3.5mm earphone socket for the handsfree and of course HTC’s TouchFLO 3D UI.

As of now it’s going to be out only in Russia considering their WiMAX capabilities so it just might be a while before it gets here. In the meantime there’s plenty more we can expect from the company like the HTC HD Touch PRO and more importantly the G1.

Skype and the taste of consumers

When forecasting the industry are not good and although the use of mobile internet to grow I see in the blog GigaOm an interesting research which ensures that Skype:

－62% of users do not see your phone as an extension of your computer. He added: But it is astonishing that 38% already doing;)
－"Only" 23% of users feel that the study had at least the same level of control over their mobile devices on their computers.
－70% have never downloaded an application onto their mobile phones.
－67% wanted to choose applications from their phones for himself and not the carrier that they choose.

And though not only has to do with Skype, the study says users are starting to think their Smartphones as small computers. Nearly one in five users in the UK and U.S., and 27% of Spanish users or 28% of Japanese users.

And while the operators are not very happy with the strategy of skype, it seems to me that in times of crisis, and with so much competition in the segment of the VoIP applications (with other clients such as Fringe, Nimbuzz and to mention only a par, biting the heels) all actions, adding to the strategy of Skype is not over.

The tip is missing from the poll: Show what is the skype user profile and give you tools to operators so that Skype will be attractive in some way, because at least in today's world nobody can go against the owner pipe.
